How to sell your book
When you’ve completed your manuscript, it’s been edited and proofread and is in the hands of your publisher, that is not the end of your journey. In fact, it’s just the beginning.
Even a mainstream publishing house won’t do a huge amount of marketing, so if you want it to be successful you’ll need to have a marketing plan.
There are two elements to your marketing:
- The launch
- Ongoing marketing
Your launch will include email campaigns, social media and other promotion.
Ongoing sales will depend on having a continuous marketing plan to keep gathering readers onto your list and make more sales. This might include:
- Email marketing
- Social media offers
- Back-of-room sales at events where you are presenting
- Bundling your book into your client proposals
