That may sound a bit strong, but there are plenty of people who find the writing process tedious. But if you have a great message and an audience ready to receive it – how do you get past your reluctance to sit down and write, without finding reasons to push that task onto the back burner?
A book is the written (or audible) version of your message. My bet is that you’ve already shared that message, or a version of it, with your clients, network, business connections, on social media or in some other way.
It might have been face-to-face, on a virtual meeting, as a video or podcast.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be part of your ‘writing’ process. AI offers many options, not least converting one medium into another. If you’ve talked to camera a lot – either videos on YouTube, video shorts on your social media, webinars you’ve recorded, you already have a ton of material.
The same applies to podcasts or other audio material.
An AI software, such as ElevenLabs, can process video and audio files and give you a text version.
If you’re happy talking rather than writing, you could record your thoughts – or even have someone interview you, as long as you provide them with the subject you want to explore. An extension of this is to get AI (like Claude or Chat GPT) to create a question framework for your interviewer to use.
Generating content for a book, doesn’t mean you have to also do battle with your ‘I hate writing’ gene! If you do some planning to get your structure right, adding the meat can be done in a way that you’re comfortable with.
